what if you crack both by accident. and you keep applying pressure on the same m&m its gunna break eventually. so an M&M that survives lets say 15 rounds, but eventually breaks, is stronger than the last m&m which made it through 4 rounds, but just happened to be the last one.

a friend sent me this because it reminded him of our "rock wars" we would have at the river, we would search for the best rock we could find for battle then take turns trying to smash the others rock. Eventually finding an undefeated rock.

I think this is a flawed way to determine the greatest M&M in a pack of M&Ms. See, because you can have one M&M from the beginning that is stronger than like 9 others. But when you get to the 10th one, you're using a brand new M&M with an M&M that has been attempted to be crushed 9 times before. You've weakened the structure of that M&M and it is no longer a fair fight. What you need to do is pair off all of the M&Ms and set it up in a bracket. You fight each pair of M&Ms and then move the winner of each fight to the next round, where they are paired off with other winners. Then you battle those. The winners of this round are then paired off with the other winners from that round. This way, every M&M is equally weakened into each round and the true strongest will survive. I hope you take this into consideration.

My family did this with eggs at Easter too! It's known as "pacquing" (sounds like "pocking") in the Cajun French tradition. Always fun!

Do you hang out at comic book shops very often? No, but seriously, my family had a similar contest every easter with the hardboiled colored easter eggs. Two people go wrist to wrist and on 3 they tap the tips of the eggs together. Only one will break, just like your M&M's. We actually drew up contest brackets and everything. Come to think of it that seems just as lame, but it's the little things like that that we miss as we grow old. Peace.

I also do this, have for years, have for years. I actually broke a phone screen once upon a time because I wanted to squish the strongest of the bag. I just ended up with a cracked screen of my (then awesome) krzr.
